Several photos of units before they departed for the Philippines, particularly the tank battalions, air corps squadrons and particularly the 200th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), a National Guard unit from New Mexico. About half of the book are thumbnail photos and biographical sketches of specific men, mostly from the 200th. This enlarged second edition contains everything found in the first edition, with additional photos, maps, names and features. Griffin, the original editor, knew many of the New Mexico men and was inspired by their courage to compile this book. Matson, also from New Mexico, also came to know the survivors well: she wrote two books about them. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose List(s) this item appears in: WWII heroes
