An aerial view of Manila during the American bombardment of Intramuros. The walled City is obscured by smoke; much of the area close to the north bank of Pasig, levelled. Note: Quezon Boulevard on the left which is joined by España (left corner) and crossed by Azcarraga (now C. M. Recto Ave.). The wheel-like structure on the lower left portion is the Bilibid compound and across, at the corner of España and Quezon Boulevard is the U-shaped building of Far Eastern University. Running parallele to Quezon Boulevard, slightly curving to the right towards plaza Santa Cruz is Rizal Avenue.
