Small cone-shaped pieces bearing on its crudely rounded bottom an inscription in early tagalog or Malayan script. Noted numismatist, Dr. Gilbert Perez, believed that the piloncitos were used in the Madjaphit Empire to which some parts of the Philippines were once included.
