500 _aBirhen sa Calo-oy. Boholis a predominantly Catholic province and rerligious fanatics flock to various pilgrimages centers. One of these is the shrine of the Birhen sa Calo-oy in Calape, located about 2 kilometers from the main highway. "Calo-oy" is a Visayan term for "pity" or "mercy" and at the same time the name given to the alley where the shrine can be found. The image stands nearly a foot high including the wooden base and was retrieved allegedly from a big seashell.
