Assigned to the 61st Infantry Regiment in Miag-ao, Iloilo as a company commander, Bernido recounts his experiences in combat in Mindanao, getting separated from his unit, and going to his native Bohol.
The bulk of this book deals with his activities and observations as a junior officer with the guerrillas in eastern Bohol. Tells of how the Image of the Blessed Virgin was rescued by Bernido’s men from the church in Guindulman.
