This is a story, based upon fact, of GI survivors of the Battle of Luzon, on a remote tropical island in the Philippines during World War II. *Autographed copyLanguage/Translation Info: EnglishSummary: A novel, based on true events, of two Americans, only survivors of their air corps unit and cut off after the withdrawal of USAFFE forces to Bataan. They escape to an island (fictitious in name, but similar to Mindoro). There they struggle to survive, escaping Japanese patrols but aided by Filipinos. The author, an American missionary in Mindoro prior to the war, tries to show what happened in the Philippines after the missionaries left or were interned. The result is this book, advertised as “both an adventure story with spiritual undertones and an illuminating picture of a little-explored corner of World War II.†- Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
