The group was led by Eleuterio Adevoso (“Terry”) and Miguel Ver, both Philippine Military Academy cadets when the war broke out; they were too junior to be commissioned and were sent home. Instead of remaining peacefully at home, they organized a resistance group, stole firearms from under the noses of the Japanese and ably enlarged their following. Ver was killed in a Japanese raid, but Adevoso and his followers strengthened the organization into one of the most potent guerrilla units. The men fought until the end of the war. Well documented with materials of the guerrilla group, this work was the result of efforts of the Hunters Historical Committee, which collected materials, and the author, also a Hunters ROTC guerrilla, who collected his own materials, conducted interviews, and wrote the text.
