N1  - A robust-looking rocket-kite  with tail and tassel fluttering  in the breeze. These appendages are not merely decorative but also functional and are attached for equilibrium.  Kite-flying is a favorite pastime in many Asian countries like China, Japan, and  specially Thailand where   it has a large following.  In Bangkok(Thailand), frequent kite-flying competitions are held at the Pramane Ground and bets are placed on favorite kites.  In the Philippines, kite-flying enjoyed popularity during the post-war years where aerial combats took place on weekends at the playgound of public school.  The growth of Manila as a metropolis and the prevalence of telepone and electric lines  brought about a temporary decline to this outdoor sport.
