She is shown dressed in royal finery: heavily embroidered silk patadyong (skirt), white malaya (blouse) of ornate lacework, and an equally elaborately embroidered surban (shawl). Headdress is called turban. The Sultan''s wife is preoccupied with the preservation of an activity no longer appreciated by present-day Yakans: the weaving of a native fabric from abaca fibers. Design samples of the fabric are shown in the background. Center panel shows the most common design which is used in making trousers.
