The posts, floorings, walls and rafters were made of molave and narra, especially chosen from the Chinese lumber merchants in Binakayan, Kawit and from the far-off forests of Mindoro. Its ground floor served as a primary schoolhouse until 1896 and as a hospital during the Revolution.
