He later joined his family in banking. Eminent lawyer from Manila, born on February 3, 1877 to Manuel and Ana (Feliciano) Abreu; received his bachillerato from the Ateneo, LLB from U.S.T. and LLM and DCL from the George Washington (formerly Columbia) University. Two years after passing the bar examinations, he was appointed Assistant Attorney-General (1902-03), Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (1903-06), and later Prosecuting Attorney of Manila; and Manila CFI judge (1906-19). In 1922 he was named General Counsel of the Manila Railroad Company. He was also a law professor at the University of the Philippines as well as in several private law schools.
