N1  - The Bontoc Igorot usually wears a suklang, a basket-work hat worn on the back of the head with a sprig of flowers or some green plant tucked at either side, or with side ornaments of human-hair tassles, dog teeth, or mother-of-pearl disks in red and yellow. The single men's suklang are usually more attractive than those of the married ones.     Bontoc males start wearing the suklang around age six or seven.
