N1  - The American governor-general of the Philippines from 1909 to 1913.  A grandson of Ralp Waldo Emerson on his mother''s side, Cameron was a son to a brilliant businessman who put Bell Telephone Company together.  He settled down as accountant for Stone and Webster, later rising to the company''s third highest position.  Forbes was managing the family''s banking firm when he suddenly turned to public service.  He left for the Philippines to serve as Commisioner for commerce and police in February1904
