Abraham was 28 years old when the war started, a sergeant in the US 31st Infantry Regiment. He saw combat in Bataan, the death march, and was incarcerated in Camp O’Donnell and Cabanatuan, among others. He was one of those rescued in the Ranger raid on the camp in January 1945. Since he had been an eyewitness to the deaths and burials of many American prisoners of war, he was assigned to help locate their bodies at the end of the war. He also testified in the war crimes trial against Masaharu Homma. In this lengthy account, Abraham gave names and concrete circumstances in order to keep the memory of his friends alive and prove that the atrocities he saw actually happened. - Prof. Ricardo T.
