The parol is the most popular Philippine Christmas symbol. It derived its name from the Spanish word farol, meaning "light". This five-pointed star lantern represents the star of Bethlehem, which according to the New Testament led the Three Kings to the Child Jesus lying in a manger. (Source: Pasko!
