Believed to have been found on the banks of the Iloilo River, the image of Our Lady of the Candle is currently enshrined at the Cathedral of the Candelaria in Jaro, Iloilo. History was made when the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, came to Jaro and crowned the image of the Virgin on February 20, 1981. Her feast day is celebrated every February 2.
