Entrance to the Biblioteca, San Agustin Monastery. A plaque reads: These halls connected the lower cloister with the Second Monastery, built during the period 1624-1667 and destroyed during World War II. In the adjacent gardens, Fr. Manuel Blanco,OSA (1778-1845) carried out the botanical experiments for his famous book "Flora de Filipinas". The Library contains now a small part of the rich collection of books and manuscripts which were kept in this Monastery.
