An Ilocano journalist, poet, and essayist, de los Reyes was the first to publish a version of Lam-ang, together with its Spanish version, in the second volume of El Folklore Filipino in 1890. The photo reproduced here bears his signature. De los Reyes was the founder and director of Filipinas Ante Europa, one of the official publications of the First Philippine Republic in Spain.
