Rather than surrender in 1942, he organized his own guerrilla organization and led ambushes against the Japanese while also obtaining information from occupied Bacolod through a trusted spy (the daughter of a local Japanese whom he had fallen in love with).<br/><br/>This is his story as related to the author, but told in the first person. - Prof. Ricardo T.
