| Summary, etc. | Volume II of this history covers the economic and cultural aspects of the occupation, as well as the guerrilla movement, the Commonwealth government-in-exile and finally the return of the Americans and the liberation of the Philippines from Japanese rule.<br/><br/>This volume also provides several valuable documents as appendices. The volumes are strong on some points, a bit weak in others, but they represent an attempt at a comprehensive history.<br/><br/>Since the two volumes were published in 1965 (they were reprinted in 2001 without any editorial changes), portions are now outdated with the appearance of new material.
