Bauan Church Ayala Museum Research Team

Shown is the stone and brick church of Bauan, with its original structure founded by the Augustinians in the 1700s. The hexagonal bell tower was built by Fr. Jose Treviño in 1772. The eminent botanist, Fr. Manuel Blanco, was pastor of this church from 1816 to 1828. (Source: Angels in Stone: Augustinian Churches in the Philippines, Fr. Pedro Galende, O.S.A., 1996) YYY
