Personal account of the author’s adventures in Parañaque when World War II changed his life. He endured the Japanese occupation of his town, but fell in love; he later joined the Hunters ROTC guerrillas and tried to keep in touch with his girlfriend. At one point he was arrested by the Japanese; but he was freed.

About half the book deals with his complex life after the war, from being charged with killing the town mayor to migrating to the US and enduring a failed marriage. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
