Jolo Town

Panoramic view of Jolo town proper viewed from the Raja Baginda Park in Bud (Mount) Datu. When the Spaniards occupied Jolo in 1876, the town was raised considerably above sea level by extensive earth and stone fillings. This main or central part of Jolo is known to the Moros as Tiyangi Sug, meaning "shops or market of Sulu".
