Format and design are similar to the issues during Spanish colonial rule, except that the denomination is expressed as pesos instead of pesos fuertes. In the photo is a 5-peso note, printed by Barclay and Fey, Ltd., London; size is 6 5/16 x 3 7/8 inches. Colors: Face--black overprint on pink paper, serial numbers and seal in red.
