Ntra. Sra del Pronto Socorro is represented as the silken-veiled Virgin Mary carrying the Child Jesus by an oil painting framed by a 20 cms. x 15.5 cms. metal plate. Brought over by Dominican friars in 1587, it was first enshrined in the "Iglesia de los Santos Reyes del Parian" in Manila (a church which the Dominicans built in a site between what were to be the Colgante Bridge and the military hospital).
